JNE’s capabilities are reflected in the successful partnerships we have developed to provide ongoing engineering support to a growing list of clients.

Our capabilities to help complete large-scale projects were demonstrated with our involvement at Dofasco’s #6 Continuous Pickle Line and No. 2 Tandem Cold Mill. The coupling of these two facilities resulted in one of the foremost facilities of its kind in the world.

The facility in Hamilton, Ontario, incorporates a new pickling line coupled with an upgraded cold rolling mill to create a continuous 1,000-foot long operation capable of processing 2.3 million tones of steel per year. It is an efficient, non-stop, high-capacity operation designed to meet the increasingly demanding specifications of the steel maker’s customers.

JNE Consulting augmented the Project and Construction Team and provided full engineering support from feasibility through to commissioning. At its peak, JNE contributed 120 people to
the project.

JNE’s multi-discipline capabilities helped ensure a smooth transition from the conceptual stage through to completion. The scope of JNE’s involvement included front-end basic engineering and construction engineering, as well as project and construction management services such as estimating, construction trade coordination and Quality Assurance / Quality
Control (QA/QC).
